Angelina A. Scarpa (nee Alesiani) entered her eternal rest on August 3, 2025, at age 90. “Angie,” as she was affectionately known, was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege to know her. She was generous to everyone with her time and acts of charity. Angie’s journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion and unwavering faith in God and the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Angie was the devoted daughter of Edith and Nazareno (Jospeh) Alesiani and was born on September 17, 1934. She was the beloved wife of Carl E. Scarpa, Sr. for over 70 years. Angie and Carl met at an ice cream parlor in South Philadelphia. They went to see a movie as their first official date and eventually married. Angie’s greatest role was as the selfless and loving mother of Christopher (Nancy) and the late Carl Jr. (the late Maria) Scarpa. She was the proud grandmom of her cherished granddaughters, Allie and Talia. Angie also is survived by cousins and other family members.

Angie was a lifelong resident of South Philadelphia (other than the past four years when she resided at Wesley Enhanced Living Main Line in Media, PA). She was a proud graduate of Hallahan High School. Angie’s passing has left a void in the hearts of her family and friends, and she will be missed by all that knew her.

Angie found joy in her family, friends and music. She enjoyed good food, loved chocolate and was a terrific cook and baker. Those who knew her will remember her for her generous ways, kind words that she had for everyone, faith in God and the selfless and caring way in which she lived her life.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral on WEDNESDAY August 13th from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Church, 923 Christian St., Philadelphia, PA. Mass of Christian Burial begins at 11:00 AM. Interment, Fernwood Cemetery, 6501 E. Baltimore Ave., Lansdowne, PA.
