Anthony Michael Acchione, born June 12, 1942, born to eternal life December 22, 2024. Son of John B Acchione Jr and Rita Acchione (nee Carfagno), brother of John B Acchione III (Lucille).

Anthony attended Bishop Neuman High School and attended St Joseph’s College graduating in 1965 with a degree in accounting. An avid member of the Hawk Hoop Club, Anthony enjoyed many games on Hawk Hill and often traveled with the team.

Anthony enjoyed a successful career in Accounting with the Philadelphia Housing Authority, where he ultimately retired as Treasurer.

Anthony was passionate about his Italian Heritage. He was a member of the John B Acchione Lodge #311 [named after his grandfather] of the Order Sons and Daughters of Italy since November 11, 1958. He held positions of increasing importance on the local lodge, State and National levels. Most recently he was State President Emeritus.  Anthony’s accomplishments in the Order were significant throughout the years. In recognition of his dedication to the charity work of the Order, the Italian Republic honored him with the Order of Merit.

Anthony supported Philadelphia sports teams, especially Philadelphia Eagles’ football and (previously based in Philadelphia) Oakland Athletics baseball.

Anthony's passion for numbers extended beyond his professional career and into his community involvement. He served as Treasurer of the St. Peter’s School Parents Association, as well as Past Chancellor and Past President of the Graduate Club. Additionally, he held the position of Treasurer for the Ocean Mist Condo Association. Anthony was also a proud Third-Degree member of the San Salvador Council #28 of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by wife Roberta Romano Acchione, daughter Ritamarie and son Anthony Michael Jr, [Adriana]

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Saturday December 28th 9 – 10AM St Rita of Cascia Church 1166 S Broad St Mass will follow viewing 10AM Entombment Holy Cross cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations are respectfully requested in Anthony’s name to St Joseph’s University Basketball 5600 City Ave. Philadelphia Pa 19131 or St Rita of Cascia National Shrine 1166 S. Broad St. Philadelphia, Pa 19145.
