Antonia Filippone (née DiPopolo) passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026, at the age of 94.
She was the devoted wife of the late Pasquale Filippone, with whom she shared over 67 loving years of marriage before his passing in 2020. Antonia was the beloved mother of Gerardo (Lorrie) Filippone and Nello (Andrea) Filippone; a cherished Nonna and Grandmother of Danielle (Anthony) Graffeo, Antonio, Vincent, Brookes, and Nevicella; and a proud great-grandmother of Benjamin and Olivia.
She was the loving sister of Mario (Nancy) DiPopolo and the late Maria (Michael) Zecca.
Born in Calabritto, Campania, Italy, Antonia first immigrated to Argentina before coming to the United States in 1962, where she built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work. She was a gifted and respected seamstress, working in many of Philadelphia’s tailor shops during an era when such craftsmanship was highly valued.
Antonia was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was her greatest pride and joy. She also had a deep and special devotion to St. Rita, and her faith remained a guiding force throughout her life.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Saturday from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at St. Rita of Cascia Church.A Funeral Mass will follow.Entombment will take place at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations in Antonia’s memory to the St. Rita of Cascia Shrine, 1166 South Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19145.
