A Man of Faith

Burton (Burt) was a true man of faith and lived a full life in the service of others. Those who knew Burt know that he always closed the conversation with “ Thy will be done “.(Matthew 6:10)Abandoning his complete faith in the Lords will. Thy will be done because his will will cause the most perfect blessings. This requires complete trust and obedience.

Burton was born the six child to Arthur Daniel and Cleo( Dix)  on September 29, 1928, in Pocohontus,Tennessee.After completion of high school and college he promptly enrolled at the Union Theological Seminary in Upstate New York. The newly ordained minister was given a church home almost immediately.

Burts career took him from the East to West coast. He pursued his law degree at Howard University and practiced law in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Washington D.C.

Returning to his family roots Burt moved to the San Francisco area and accepted a ministerial position at the St Pauls Presbyterian Church in San Francisco .

Burt was preceded in death by his only child, his beloved daughter Cleo Dix Williams, his parents Arthur Daniel Williams and Cleo Dix Williams. His elder brothers Lt. Col. Arthur Franklin Williams , Dr John Mark Williams, his dear sisters Dorthea Mae Anderson and Sadye Virginia Snead. He is survived by his loving ,adoring and devoted sister Attorney Harriet Lorraine Williams, and many nieces and nephews whom he loved.

His funeral will be held March 9th at 9:00Am at the Baldi Funeral Home 1331 S Broad St, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19147
