Carla Peralta was born and raised in Pueblo, Colorado to Mary Alice and Carlos Peralta. She graduated from Central High School before moving to Philadelphia to become a caregiver. She graduated from Drexel University with her Bachelors degree before continuing her caregiving career.

While in Philadelphia, she made many friends involved in the tennis community. She played on many different courts, bringing joy, nurturing friendships, and the love of the game to everyone she met. It is this tennis family that brought her the most joy and the most support during her final years.

Carla is survived by her mother, Mary Alice, brothers Michael and Frank, sisters Jamie and Marina (husband Tim). She is also survived by nephews Alex and wife Nicole, Cameron and wife Lauren, Brandon and wife Gina, Jedidiah and wife Brittany and their son Ezio. She is also survived by nieces Brienna, Alyssa and Marcella. She is preceded in death by her father Carlos, brother Daniel and maternal grandmother Antonina. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Carla’s ashes will be interred at a later date.

Carla was supported by special friends Nabila, Olivia, and Sonya as well as the many friends who took the time to visit, make origami cranes, and ensure she was surrounded by love in her final days. To her “little guys” Jacob, Anderson, Townes - you brought so much love and joy to her life!

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation so they can continue to help others battling this horrible disease. (https://www.sandyovarian.org/about-us) or to a local tennis group to keep the spirit of tennis alive.
