Chhoan was a kind-hearted person with an affinity for life. She experienced much in her 96 years, including surviving two conflicts which ultimately led to her arrival in America with her children. Her difficult past made her the strong matriarch we all knew. She instilled values in all of us that we still hold to this day. She played a large role in raising all six of her grandchildren, while her children and in-laws worked very long hours to make ends meet in hopes that they would have a better future. She had an appreciation for nature and could be seen walking around in the garden of her home most mornings. She loved unripe green olives and jasmine flowers as it reminded her of her childhood home. Her personal passions were only surpassed by her love for her family. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with and the seeds she planted will flourish for generations to come. She will be greatly missed.
