Cynthia Anne Marelia

Cynthia Anne Marelia (nee Ricci) passed away on December 28, 2025 at age 79.  She had a lifelong passion for politics and public service. She served as an administrator for the Philadelphia Traffic Court, where she was known for her professionalism and commitment, and later as Chief of Staff to Senator Mike Stack, a role she carried out with dedication, insight, and pride. She believed deeply in civic engagement and worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make government function better for the people it served. Beyond her career, Cynthia loved traveling, embracing new places and cultures, and she had a gift forstorytelling—sharing memories, humor, and wisdom in a way that brought people together. Her stories were a reflection of a life fully lived. Above all else, Cynthia cherished her family, especially her grandchildren, who were the joy of her life. She is the Beloved Wife of the late Norman; Loving Mother of Debbie (Tom) Mahler and Joe (Marie) Soriano; Dear Grandmom of Zachary, Ethan, Mia, and Joey; Great Grandmom of Ariana and Siena; Sister of Angela and the late Lorraine and also survived by nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral on MONDAY morning from 8:30am to 10:00am at St. Rita of Cascia Church, 1166 S. Broad St., Phila. Funeral Mass begins at 10:00am.
