Daniel "Danny" Kim Davis

 Daniel “Danny” Kim Davis, 57, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2026 at Jefferson Hospital due to complications from heart surgery, surrounded by loved ones.

Daniel Kim Davis was born on January 14, 1969 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to Boknam Jin Davis and Minja Kim Davis, immigrants from South Korea. He grew up in Mechanicsburg, PA and attended Cumberland Valley High School and then went on to attend Drexel University where he obtained a bachelor of science degree in biology. Danny had an extensive career in the pharmaceutical industry that spanned over 30 years as a quality assurance and quality operations leader.

Throughout his life, Danny was known for his kindness, generosity, and love of life. He truly lived life to the fullest. He loved Philadelphia, the Eagles, family, nature (especially the ocean), food, and friends. He was a curious, lifelong learner, exploring life through travel, music, reading, and conversing and connecting with people often over a good meal. Danny was a loyal and steadfast friend and family member, always there for the best and worst of times.

In the words of his friends, Danny was “the most beautiful light who brought so much joy to everyone”, touching so many hearts, and sharing raucous laughter and love with everyone lucky enough to cross paths with him.

Danny is survived by his loving sisters Susan Jin Davis and Elaine Jin Davis, nieces Sophia Jin Malatesta and Aurelia Elizabeth Beenham, nephews Alexander Jin Beenham and Julian Francis Beenham, and many uncles, aunts, cousins, and chosen family members and friends, too many to name. He was preceded in death by his parents Boknam and Minja Davis.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 2:00 pm followed by a memorial service and celebration of life at 3:00 pm at Baldi Funeral Home, 1331 South Broad Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Philabundance, https://www.philabundance.org. Danny cared deeply about addressing food insecurity in Philadelphia and dedicated many years of service to feeding the homeless.
