De Dai Bach Profile Photo

De Dai Bach, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully in her home in Broomall, Pennsylvania, on August 18, 2025. She was 83 years old.

Born on July 10, 1942, in Cholon, Vietnam, De Dai was the daughter of Bach Choi Ky and Chung Lang. She later married her late husband, Kiet Giang, with whom she raised a loving family. In 1979, during a time of uncertainty and upheaval, her and her husband courageously immigrated to the United States to escape the northern takeover of Saigon. With strength, resilience, and determination, they built a new life for their children in a foreign land.

De Dai and Kiet Giang were true entrepreneurs, building/operating both Chinese takeout restaurants and laundromats to provide for her family. Her strong work ethic and selflessness became the foundation upon which her children and grandchildren thrived.

She will be lovingly remembered by her six surviving children: Stephanie (Water), Tina (George), Jennifer (Steven), Isabel (Peter), Nicki, and Jack (Ngoc). She is also survived by her sister, De Chung Eynon; and her cherished grandchildren: Ashley and Sabrina Chong; Emily, Geoffrey, Jessica, and Vincent Du; Tiffany, Brandon, and Victoria Lam; Rebecca, Austin Lam, and Amber Chiang; Caleb and Olivia Chiang. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kiet Giang, and her son, Chi Phong Giang.

Beyond her devotion to family and business, De Dai found joy in travel, food, and films. She had an adventurous spirit, a love for experiencing new places, and a fondness for simple pleasures.

A viewing and service will be held at Baldi Funeral Home on Monday, August 25, at 8:00 a.m., followed by interment at the cemetery beginning at 10:00 a.m.

De Dai Bach’s legacy of love, resilience, and sacrifice will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
