Donato M. Cristinzio, affectionately known as “Dan,” passed away peacefully on March 21, 2025, at the age of 85. He was the devoted husband of 58 years to Carmella (née DiVito), and the beloved father of Donato M. “Danny” (Colleen), Victoria (John) Greco, and Michele Yocco

Dan was the loving brother of Frank (Sue) Cristinzio and the proud grandfather of Johnny Greco, Danielle (Alex) Verdi, Michael Greco, Nicholas (Brenna) Greco, Billy Yocco, and Isabella Yocco. He is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews.

Dan honorably served his country in the United States Air Force, where he was stationed in Panama City, Florida, and Champaign County, Illinois. Upon returning home, he joined the Philadelphia Police Department, beginning his career as a plainclothes officer in the city’s Narcotics Division. He later served in the Traffic Division until his retirement in 1989.

Never one to fully slow down, Dan continued to serve his community by working in security for the Philadelphia School District, where he was affectionately known to students and staff alike as “Mr. Dan.”

A man of many passions, Dan loved playing poker and could often be found at the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City or The Sugar House in Philadelphia. He especially treasured his summers in Wildwood, surrounded by his family, where he’d spend evenings playing poker with his grandchildren—who lovingly called him “Beach Poppi.”

Dan's life was a testament to service, family, and quiet strength. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Tuesday from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at St. Monica Church , 17th and Ritner Streets, Philadelphia.
A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 AM .
Entombment will take place at Harleigh Cemetery , Camden, NJ.
