Elaine P. Vandeputte

Elaine P. Vandeputte (nee Paparella) passed away on October 20, 2026, at the age of 83.

Devoted wife of the late Charles Vandeputte. Loving mother of Gregory Vandeputte and Tracey Masi. Cherished grandmother of Andrew Masi and Anthony (Rachael) Masi Jr., and proud great-grandmother of Melody Masi.

Born and raised in South Philadelphia, Elaine remained deeply connected to the neighborhood she called home. A longtime resident of the 1100 block of McKean Street, she also remained a devoted parishioner of St. Nicholas of Tolentine Church for many years.

Elaine had a special place in her heart for animals, particularly cats. Over the years, she opened her home and heart to many cats in need, rescuing and caring for them with the same compassion that defined so much of her life. Her love for animals also led her to generously support the SPCA and its mission.

Above all, Elaine will be remembered for her warm, generous, and openhearted nature. She cared deeply for the people in her life and found her greatest happiness in her family. Her kindness, compassion, and love will remain in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-granddaughter, family, and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Monday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at St. Nicholas of Tolentine Church, 9th and Watkins Streets, Philadelphia. Her Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 AM.

Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
