Eleanor P. Langello

Eleanor P. Langello (née Gesualdo), age 90, passed away on October 2, 2025. She was the devoted wife of the late Francis and the beloved mother of Francis Jr. (Samantha), Kathy (Tim) Miller, and Angela (Ken) Shapiro. She was the loving sister of the late Michael Gesualdo. Also survived by brother Christopher. and the cherished grandmother of Christopher, Ken, Maya, Frank, Alanna, Natalie, Noel, and Josh. She was also the proud great-grandmother of Anthony, and is survived by many caring nieces and nephews.

Eleanor’s career began at Gimbels Department Store where she worked as a dress buyer. Her passion for fashion and design led her to open her own dress shops on South Broad Street and later Passyunk Avenue, where she built a reputation for her impeccable taste and warm service.

A devoted parishioner of St. Monica Church, Eleanor helped organize countless bus trips to New York City for Broadway shows and dining, bringing joy and community spirit to many. She also treasured summers at her shore home in Longport, NJ, where she enjoyed time with her family. An avid poker player, she loved visiting the Atlantic City casinos for entertainment and camaraderie.

Eleanor will be remembered for her love of family, her generous heart, and her vibrant personality that touched the lives of all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Tuesday from 9:00 to 10:30 AM at St. Monica Church, 17th and Ritner Streets. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 AM. Interment at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
