Eric Sellin passed October 8, 2021 at the age of 87. Devoted husband of 63 years to Birgitta (Sjoberg). Beloved father of Christopher (Diane) and Frederick. Brother of Theodore (Taru) and the late David Sellin (Anne). Eric Sellin, professor emeritus at Tulane University (New Orleans), was one of the pioneer critics of Francophone letters. In 1981 while at Temple University, he founded the Center for the Study of Francophone Literature of North Africa. That same year, he founded the CELFAN Review, which gave significant exposure to the works and writers from North Africa. Beyond scholarship, Sellin was a renowned educator at both Temple (Philadephia) and Tulane Universities. Services will be held privately by the family.
