John W. DiValerio Jr., a loving husband, devoted father, and a well-respected member of the Philadelphia community, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2024. John was a graduate of Southern High School in Philadelphia, after which he bravely served his country as a Sargent in the Armed Forces stationed in Vietnam from April 13, 1966, to April 12, 1968. He served as a rifleman and sharp shooter and during his service, he received several medals and accolades, including the Vietnam Service Medal W/Bronze Service Star, Republic of Vietnam Service Medal, and National Defense Medal. Upon returning from the military, John embarked on a dynamic career, working as an Electrical Engineer and Designer at Western Electric. He helped with the design of Resorts Casino in Atlantic City. In his later years he became a Blackjack dealer at several Atlantic Casino Casino's. He was known for his dedication, commitment, and engaging personality in both his professional and personal life.

John was a Jack of all trades, with a particular passion for carpentry. He was also a music enthusiast and had a love for singing. His meticulous dressing style was a reflection of his thoughtful and precise nature, a trait cherished by all who knew him.

In addition to his successful professional career, John was a devoted husband and loving father. He was a loving husband of Maria Sullivan and the proud father of Jason (Christine) DiValerio. Brother of Joseph (Gloria), Russell (Amelia), William (Jennifer) and Domenic (Grace). Sister-in-law of Bernadette DiBiase, Sandra (Harry) Wolfheimer, Mary Sullivan and Greg Ferrara. Also survived by 5 grandchildren and loving nieces and nephews. He cherished the time spent with his family His unrelenting love and unwavering support were a source of strength for his relatives and friends, who will deeply miss his presence.

John's life and contributions will be celebrated on Wednesday 10 – 11:30AM at the Baldi Funeral Home 1331 S. Broad St. (Ample Off-Street Parking Available) Prayer service and presentation of our flag will begin at 11:30. Interment will be private.

In honor of John's memory, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society 1818 Market St. Phila., Pa 19103. His dedication, commitment, and zest for life will forever be remembered and deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
