Johnny “Fratto” passed away suddenly on Tuesday, 2/15, on a bluebird day at Bear Creek Ski Mountain, doing what he loved to do. Devoted husband of Nancy (nee Boyd). Beloved father of Dante (Amy) and Lauryn (Matthew) Keenan. Loving brother of Barbara (Bob) Nerch. Loving Poppy of Anthony, Nina and Adriana. loving Uncle of Erin Williamson and Sean Williamson. Also survived by many cousins and friends. Born and raised in South Philly, Johnny has been marching with the Philadelphia Mummers parade since the age of 3. He was often seen dressed as a clown handing out candy to all the spectators and children in the crowd. He’s spent the last 40 years marching with the Downtowners New Years Brigade as a Hall of Fame member. Johnny was involved in many things, however skiing was his number one passion. He spent the last 25 years as an active member of the National Ski Patrol at Bear Creek where he spent his days helping others and enjoying life on the slopes. He was the epitome of living life to the fullest. He was a friend and a mentor to many. If you’ve had one conversation with him, it left an impression. He never believed in taking life too seriously and he lived by that motto everyday. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing TUESDAY 9 – 11AM Baldi Funeral Home 1331 S. Broad St. (Ample Parking on Premises). Memorial tributes will begin at 11AM. Interment will be PRIVATE. In lieu of flowers family request donations be made in his name to The Mummers Museum 1100 S 2nd St. Phila., Pa 19147.
