Josephine Sorrentino

Josephine Sorrentino , age 84, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025. A devoted daughter of the late Frances and Joseph Sorrentino, Josephine was a beloved cousin to Maria (Andrew) Musa, Nanette Greco, Roseanna Greco, Maria Greco, Prudence Greco, Albert Lupinacci, Marlene Zanghi, Erica Matthews, Danielle Anzalone, Jessica Furey, Dana Furey, Maria Fuery and Renee Francia.

She will be especially missed by her cherished Pomeranian companion, Ellie, and by her many dear friends and neighbors from the 2900 block of South Broad Street.

Josephine had a deep love for animals, which she turned into a lifelong career as a dedicated and skilled private dog groomer. She also had a great passion for music—she played the piano, wrote her own compositions, and found joy in sharing her talents with those around her. An excellent cook, Josephine loved preparing meals for her family, filling her home with warmth and tradition.

A proud and devoted Catholic, Josephine was a longtime parishioner of Stella Maris Church, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Thursday from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Stella Maris Church, located at 10th and Bigler Streets. The Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private.
