It is with heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Julius (Jules) S. Piersanti, age 93, on July 25, 2025, with his daughter Kathy by his side. Jules was born May 17, 1932, to the late Katherine (nee: Michelangelo) and Julius Piersanti Sr. and raised in South Philadelphia. He is predeceased by his older sister Rita Campanella.

To his friends, he was simply known as "Jules" or "Jr.". Jules was a devoted father, loving uncle, caring nephew, reliable cousin, loyal friend, and unforgettable presence in every room he entered. His warmth, wit, humor, intelligence, and generosity touched the lives of many, leaving an incredible mark on all who knew him.

He was the proud and doting father to his beloved daughter Kathy. His love for her was unmatched. Something that brought him so much joy, and that's something that will be remembered by everyone who knew him.

Jules grew up helping to run his parent’s grocery store at 10th and Ellsworth. After high school, Jules went on to honorably serve his country in the United States Army. He proudly served in the 101st Airborne during the Korean War. A time he later said shaped him into the man he became. Upon returning home from the Army, he started his beer distributor at 24th and Passyunk, Piersanti’s Beer and Soda, which he had for many years. He often credited those many years of hard work to living a long and healthy life.

After an early and well-earned retirement, a milestone he was immensely proud of, you could find him at his sister Rita‘s flower shop, Royal Flowers, on 63rd St. in Southwest Philly, chatting it up with old friends or making new ones. When he wasn't there; you could probably find him at the OTB hanging out with his buddies, wiping down his Cadillac, at the gun range with his nephew Jules, walking through the mall with his dear friend Larry, watching the Eagles or Phillies with his great-nephew, Jules Jr. or taking a drive to nowhere. Sunday was his favorite day, always at Kathy’s making a pot of gravy, meatballs, and raviolis.

Above all else, Jules's greatest joy was spending time with his beloved daughter Kathy. Their bond was unbreakable. Kathy was the center of his world, his heart, and the focus of his every day. His love, pride, and unwavering support for her were evident to all who knew him.

Jules leaves behind his cherished daughter, Kathy, his loving niece, Mary, great-niece Theresa, great-nephew Jules Jr., Janet, Kathy’s mother, and numerous beloved family and treasured friends. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Father, Sister, loving Aunts, Cousins, dear Nephew Jules and his best friend, Larry. All of whose memories he cherished, and who he is now reunited with in Heaven.

His presence, stories, personality, and laughter will be deeply missed, but forever remembered.
