Kim Le Profile Photo
Kim Oanh Le departed her loving family on May 6, 2021 at age 65. She was a beloved
mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. The daughter of Nguyen Van Que
and Luong Thi Du, she was the eldest sister of 10. She was the widow of Mr. Khoi Van Le
who passed in March 2009.
Prior to emigrating to the United States, she and her husband were refugees at Bidong
Refugee Camp in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. They arrived in this country in 1983 and took
residence in Reading, Pennsylvania. Over the years, Kim tirelessly worked her way to
becoming a successful entrepreneur, owning an array of businesses with her husband, from
a beer distributor, to a one-hour photo shop, to a Vietnamese restaurant.
Kim was a vibrant, strong-willed woman who inspired the lives of many with her unbelievable
work ethic and inner strength. She always exuded elegance and grace. She was a woman of
boundless energy with an unparalleled zest for life who believed intensely in the importance
of a strong family bond. She cherished her four young grandchildren, Jasmine, Ethan,
Sebastian, and Ava, and her love for them as “Grandma” was unlike any other.
She was a devout member of the Chua Bo De Buddhist Temple. Kim enjoyed spending
quality time with her loved ones, cooking the finest Vietnamese food, traveling and going on
Buddhist retreats, and shopping for new clothing and shoes.
Kim is survived by her daughters, Yen Hitchcock, Huong Le, Trang Janick, and Thuy Nga Le.
Joining in their loss are Kim’s siblings, Giam, Trung, Hieu, Thao, Le, Thuy, Tien, and Bao
along with their spouses, and countless nieces and nephews.
