Larry Mazzola

On September 5, 2024, at the age of 80, Larry C. Mazzola passed away peacefully with his family by his side. Loving husband of the late Carol (nee Sorrentino). Beloved father of Larry, Lisa (Howard) Ziff, Marc (Stephanie) and the late Stephen. Loving grandfather of Adrian, Luciano, Mia, Eva, Milan, Ryan, and Santino. Dear brother of Hank (late Ann), Marie (late Joe) Aversa, John (Debbie). He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Larry was born on October 11, 1943, in San Donato Val di Comino, a small town in the Lazio section of Italy and lived in Rome until at the age of 11, when he migrated to the United States with his family.

He attended Bishop Newman high school and graduated from Temple University with an Accounting degree in 1966. He began his accounting practice in Philadelphia a few years later and simultaneously served his country for six years in the United Stares Army Reserve. He spent his Entire life working hard to provide for his family and their future.

He maintained a successful accounting practice in South Philly for over 15 years but soon after Larry was drawn into the restaurant business for his love of cooking and eventually became the new owner of the Sailfish Café, in Margate NJ where he ran a successful operation for many years. Later in life Larry became a member of the Creative Financial group as an Estate Planner until his retirement.

Most of all he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who loved his family very much. He will be greatly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Friday September 13th 11 – 12:30 St. Pius X Church 220 Lawrence Rd. Broomall, Pa 19008. Funeral MASS will begin at 12:30. Interment SS Peter and Paul Cemetery
