Ly Sang Trinh passed away on Monday evening on March 1, 2021 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was comforted by his children and surrounded by family until his final moments at the age of 83.
Born on August 10, 1937 in Saigon, Vietnam, he was the youngest of his 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Ly Sang married My Thi Nguyen in Saigon, Vietnam and served in the service for South Vietnam for 10 years (1965 – 1975). He and his wife immigrated to the USA in 1975 with their children after the Vietnam War and settled in South Philadelphia, where he spent the rest of his life living. He was employed by McCray as a refrigeration assembler until he retired in 2003 at 65 years old. Ly Sang was well known for his creativity and intelligence, he self-taught himself French during his service and English when he came to America. He enjoyed listening to music and watching his drama shows after his daily walks, to help him maintain his physique. As an independent, tenacious and benevolent individual, he was a hard worker and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather to his large family. He taught us love can be shown without words, but with protection, leadership and even sometimes insults ☺
Ly Sang is survived by his spouse My Thi Nguyen, 9 Children: Hoa Trinh(Le Truong), Sue Ann Trinh(Hong Luong), Tran Trinh(Kham Vong), Roxie Trinh(Buu Tran), Chris Trinh(Sandy Ma), Steve Trinh(Vicki Trinh), Victor Trinh(Ngoc Tien Chung), Tom Trinh(Kay Rajavong), John Trinh(Suki Lam), 19 Grandchildren, 3 Great-grandchildren, his two older sisters and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
