Marie Giorla

Marie Giorla (née Giorla), age 104, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026, surrounded by a lifetime of love and faith.

Marie was the devoted wife of the late Ralph Giorla and a loving and caring mother to Janet Giorla and Ralph Giorla. She was a cherished aunt and great-aunt, and will be deeply missed by her many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom she held close to her heart.

A lifelong parishioner of Annunciation B.V.M. Church in South Philadelphia, Marie’s faith was the foundation of her life. She gave generously of her time and spirit, always willing to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed. Whether she was selling tickets to support parish fundraisers, assisting Catholic Charities, preparing vestments for the priests, working at the annual carnival, serving as a Eucharistic Minister, or fulfilling her role as Vice President of the Sodality, Marie’s dedication to her church community was unwavering. She found great joy in serving others and took pride in being an active and faithful member of her parish family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Thursday from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at Annunciation B.V.M. Church. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 AM.

Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery.
