Marie Pagano

Marie R. Pagano was born on October 5, 1921 in Phila, PA., one of nine children of Antonio  & Caterina Paone.  She graduated from South Phila. H.S. Marie was married to Sam Pagano for 40 years.  Sam was an Army veteran who died in January 1985.  Beloved mother of Angela (Frank) Quigley and Sam (Kathy) Pagano. Loving grandmother of Dr. Frank (Monica) Quigley, Catherine (Anthony) Hiatt, Andrea (Christian) Raucci and Samantha (Ryan) Wilson. Great Grandmother of Mason, Sean, Conor, Ryan, Graeme and Ella. Marie worked first at Yellow Cab and then, for many years, as a bookkeeper for Fishman & Tobin, Philadelphia.S he was very active as a volunteer for St. Rita's parish (Phila.) working as a Catholic Daughters' troop leader, St. Rita's PTA and Bingo, St. Rita's Parish Council, St. Rita's Novena, and Eucharistic Minister. In addition to her volunteer work, Marie enjoyed crocheting & knitting, cooking, and making her delicious pizzelles for family celebrations.  But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family at her homes in Philadelphia and Ocean City, NJ. Marie is a long-standing member of the Sons of Italy, John Acchione Lodge 311, Phila. Marie lived in St.Rita's parish from her birth in 1921 until she went into assisted living in 2015. Her primary home in St. Rita's parish was 1216 Ellsworth St. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing SATURDAY 9 – 10AM St. Rita of Cascia Church 1166 S. Broad St. funeral MASS will begin at 10AM. Entombment Holy Cross Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers family request donations in her memory to Villa Raffaela Assistant Living 917 S.
