Marilyn DiPiazza, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2025.

She was the devoted wife of the late Carl DiPiazza and a loving mother to Cheryl Diverio (Sue Hannabass), Donna Mirarchi (Paul Gerwig), Carl Jr. (Christine), James, and Christopher (Heather). She is also survived by her dear sister, Elizabeth Toronto.

Marilyn’s legacy lives on through her nine adored grandchildren—Karen Giordano, Jon Diverio, Antonia DiPiazza, Alexandria DiPiazza, Dominic DiPiazza, Nina Mirarchi, Laura Stilwell, Lucy DiPiazza, and Grace DiPiazza—and her ten great-grandchildren.

She dedicated over two decades to her work at the Hackensack University Medical Center’s Institute of Child Development, where she touched countless lives with compassion and care.

Originally from Bergen County, New Jersey, Marilyn embraced South Philadelphia as her home in her later years. She loved summer trips to Cape May, traveling, and preparing meals for her family—especially during the holidays, when her warmth and love brought everyone together.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 27th, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Baldi Funeral Home, 1327-31 S. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA (ample off-street parking available).
A prayer service will follow at 4:00 PM .

Friends and family are invited to join us after the service at one of Marilyn’s favorite spots, Pizzeria Stella, 420 S 2nd Street, Philadelphia PA.
