Mickelina Del Borrello "Mickey" passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on August 26, 2026, at the age of 99.
She shared a devoted marriage with the late Albert J. Del Borrello and leaves behind her beloved children, Nicholas (Gail), John, and Donna (Michael) Medora. She was preceded in death by her son, Albert L. Del Borrello.
She was the loving grandmother of Nicholas (Danyelle), Lea (Les) Berry, Michael (Julia) Medora, and Gianna (Dan) Tranchina, and the cherished great-grandmother of Emma, Alyssa, Mia, Daniel, Luca, and Matthew. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Mickelina immigrated to the United States in 1935 with her mother, father, and brother from Vasto, Italy, in the Province of Chieti. She worked for many years at Marchese’s Children’s Store on Passyunk Avenue, where she enjoyed interacting with people and formed many friendships.
Mickelina found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved to read, crochet, and garden. She also enjoyed cooking for family and friends and became especially well known for her wonderful baking. Her home and kitchen often brought family and friends together to enjoy good food and one another’s company.
She will also be remembered for the enjoyment she found playing cards, particularly Pokeno, with her neighborhood girlfriends, as well as for her trips to the casino.
Above all, Mickelina loved her family. Time spent with those she loved brought her great happiness, and the memories she created with them will be cherished forever. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Tuesday evening from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Baldi Funeral Home, 1331 S. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA (Ample Parking on Premises).
