My Thi Nguyen

My Thi Nguyen passed away Tuesday morning on September 1, 2026 in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. She was comforted by her children and surrounded by the love of her family until her final moments at the age of 90. My Thi Nguyen was born on August 15, 1936, in Saigon, Vietnam. She was the eldest of four children, with two younger brothers and one younger sister. She married Ly Sang Trinh in Saigon, Vietnam, and together they built a family rooted in love, resilience, and devotion. After the Vietnam War, My Thi and her husband immigrated to the United States with their children in 1975, beginning a new chapter in their lives. They settled in South Philadelphia, which would become her home for the majority of her life. Like so many immigrants of her generation, she worked hard to provide for and support her family. She devoted much of her life to being a diligent homemaker, lovingly raising her children, while also working part-time in sewing factories and restaurants. Family was at the heart of My Thi’s life. As her children grew and started families of their own, she embraced one of her greatest joys—being a loving grandmother and the sweetest great grandmother. Her home became a familiar and welcoming place for her grandchildren, who were often dropped off to spend precious time with their grandparents. She cherished those moments and took great pride in caring for, nurturing, and watching her grandchildren grow. Her love extended generously to her large family, and the memories she created with them will remain a treasured part of their lives. My Thi found joy in the simple pleasures of everyday life. She looked forward to her daily television favorites, including Let’s Make a Deal, The Price Is Right, and Wheel of Fortune, as well as the dramas she enjoyed watching. She especially loved watching Phuong’s harvest videos on YouTube, which brought back fond memories of her days on the farm in Vietnam and connected her to the life and traditions she carried with her throughout the years. She also enjoyed going on walks, both for the simple pleasure of being outdoors and to maintain her health and strength. Her quiet routines, familiar shows, and cherished family moments reflected the simple, meaningful life she valued. My Thi was a loving, compassionate, and devoted woman. She was a wonderfully dedicated wife, a caring mother, a beloved grandmother, and a cherished member of a large and loving family. Her life was defined not by grand gestures, but by the countless everyday acts of love, sacrifice, hard work, and care she gave to those around her. Though she is deeply missed, her memory will live on through her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family, and all those fortunate enough to have known and loved her. Her legacy is the family she nurtured, the lives she touched, and the love she gave so freely throughout her 90 years. My Thi Nguyen is survived by her 9 Children: Hoa Trinh(Le Truong), Sue Ann Trinh(Hong Luong), Tran Trinh(Kham Vong), Roxie Trinh(Buu Tran), Chris Trinh(Sandy Ma), Steve Trinh(Vicki Trinh), Victor Trinh(Ngoc Tien Chung), Tom Trinh(Kay Rajavong), John Trinh(Suki Lam), 19 Grandchildren, 7 Great-grandchildren, her younger sister, younger brother, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Family, relatives, and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 from 5:00-8:00pm at Baldi Funeral Home (1331 South Broad Street, Phila, PA).
