Nicholas R. Corrado Jr.

Nicholas R. Corrado Jr., 82, of South Philadelphia, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, September 19, under the care of loved ones.

Born on January 25, 1944, in South Philadelphia, Nick lived a life marked by hard work, humor, and goodwill.

Nick proudly served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. He lived by the Marine Corps motto, Semper Fidelis, or Always Faithful. He was a living example of Honor, Courage, and Commitment, tirelessly demonstrating an unmatched dedication to servings others and standing by his loved ones through thick and thin.

Known lovingly by many as “Nicky Reds”, he was a true Renaissance man and jack-of-all-trades. For 82 years, Nick lived his life on his own terms. Dependably tough, fiercely loyal, and equipped with a genuine love for animals, his loss will be felt by all.

He is survived by his nieces Debbie Shnackenberg, Denise Creamer, Roxann Corrado, and Christina LaBelle.

A gathering in Nick’s honor will be held at Annunciation Church, 1511 S. 10th Street, on Monday, October 5th from 9:00am to 10:00am. His Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00am.  Inurnment at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Springfield and luncheon to follow. In celebration of his legacy, flowers can be sent to Annunciation B.V.M. Church or donations can be made to PAWS, the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society.

Nicholas will be cherished by his family, friends, and loved ones until the end of time. Only those who were lucky enough to know him know what profound void — and what beautiful memories — his loss leaves behind. He will forever be deeply missed.
