Nicholas Sacerdote

Nicholas (Sach) Sacerdote, Sr. passed away on August 28, 2024, at the age of 80.  Husband of Rosenia (Nee Ferriolo) and loving father of Anita (PJ) Ligambi, Joseph (Korinne) Sacerdote, and the late Nicholas, Sacerdote, Jr. (Sarah).  Loving grandfather of Rachel, Michael, Olivia, Nicki, Blaise, and Joe Jr.  He was born the son of the deceased Joseph and Millie Sacerdote and brother of the late MaryAnn DiDonato.  He was also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Born and raised in South Philadelphia, Sach was a neighborhood guy who met his wife Rosenia at the age of 17.  Together they worked hard to build a beautiful life for themselves and if you knew them, you were fortunate enough to attend one of their many fun parties.    Sach greeted everyone with a big smile, handshake, and referred to them as “Coombs”.  He was the hardest working carpenter you’d ever meet.  He worked side by side with his two sons and they would often joke that he wouldn’t even stop for lunch.  Known for his famous Mummers strut, few people knew that he played the harmonica, was the lead singer in The Westsiders, and cut a record (Shufflin’ Stomp) at the age of 17.  Sach was one of the most generous guys you would ever meet, and would give you the shirt off his back.

In the last few years of his life, he endured many health issues.  He was resilient and never once complained.  Throughout this difficult time, his daughter Anita was his primary caregiver and never left his side.  Despite the devastating loss of a husband, father, and grandfather, Sach is now with his “BUDDY” (son) and they are resting at peace together.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing between the hour of 9 AM – 10 AM Friday, September 6 at St. Monica’s Church, 17th and Ritner Streets, Philadelphia, PA.  The funeral mass will begin promptly at 10 AM.  Interment will be private.
