Nina Baldi

Nina Rita Gallo Baldi died peacefully at Jupiter Medical Center in Jupiter, Florida on November 21, 2014. She was 93.
Nina was born and raised in South Philadelphia. She attended South Philadelphia High School for Girls and Pierce School of Business where she received her associate’s degree.
In 1946, Nina married Alfonso L. Baldi Jr.( died in 2012), a renowned chemist and metallurgist. Most of her married years were spent in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania as a devoted wife and mother raising a loving family of six children. Nina was involved in extensive volunteer work including St. Bernadette Church and School, Villa Maria Academy, and the Medical Mission Sisters. After raising her children, she worked at Lankenau Medical Center in Wynnewood, PA in the Outpatient Laboratory and Pre Admission Center.
Mrs. Baldi enjoyed her large family and hosted many events for her family and friends. Her Catholic faith was the pillar of her life.
Nina and her husband, Al, spent their retirement years in Jupiter, Florida.
She is survived by six children: Theresa(Richard)Toohey, Anita(Jim) Gabler, Alfonso(Michele) Baldi III, Benjamin(Dorothy) Baldi,Patricia (Gary)Holloway, and Ginny (the late Jack) Baldi Marks,10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 2400 No. Providence Road, Media, PA on Saturday, November 29 at 11am. Friends may call before the mass between 9am and 11am. Entombment will take place at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
