Rita Pescatore

Rita (nee Pompo) passed peacefully February 15, 2021 at the age of 90. Devoted wife of the late Mario Pescatore of 47 years and former spouse of the late Thomas Pietropola. Beloved mother of Fred (Late Elaine) Pietropola , Arlene (Richard) Foley, Mario Jr., and John (Elisa Cecola). Loving grandmother of Michele Downs, Sandra McCord, Lori Canale and the late Mark Pietropola. Great Grandmother of David, Carlena, Matthew, Lucas, Nicholas, Louis and Anna, also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and dear neighbors. Rita helped her husband run his business Mario’s Market 10th & McKean St. for many years. She was also a seamstress for O’Mara Industries 10th and Washington Ave. Rita was very active in her children’s lives and donated her time as a class mother on many field trips at St Nicholas of Tolentine School. In her later years Rita looked forward to her weekly outings to the hairdressers “Joanna’s Hair Care” with her lady friends especially Rosie, Esther, Regina, Joanne, Mary, Marie and many others dear to her heart. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing FRIDAY 7 – 9 PM BALDI FUNERAL HOME 1331 S. Broad St. (Ample Parking on Premises) and SATURDAY 9 – 10AM. Funeral MASS will follow viewing SATURDAY 10:30AM St. Nicholas of Tolentine Church 9th and Watkins St. Interment SS Peter and Paul Cemetery.
