Rosario Mazzotta
October 23, 1932 — February 2, 2021
Rosario Dionigi age 88. Devoted husband of Angela (nee Narda) of 57 years. Beloved father of Salvatore (Christina), Vito, Francesco, Marisa (Jason) Wall and Stefano. Loving Nonno of Vito, Sal, Symone, Marc, Sabrina, Gabriella, Saro and Stefano Jr. On February 02, 2021, after a month long battle, Rosario Mazzotta passed away due to complications from Covid-19. Words cannot express how much he was loved, or how much he will be missed. Though no matter how severe our sorrow, it does not diminish the light that his life was.
Rosario emigrated from the small town of Montauro, Catanzaro, Italy to the U.S. in 1971. As a proud member of LIUNA Local 332, and a devoted family man, he worked for 3 years in hopes of earning enough wages to relocate his wife and children to America. That dream was finally realized on November 22, 1974 when the Mazzotta family settled down in Philadelphia, PA where they have lived happily since.He was a humble man, who deeply loved his wife, children, and grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with them during the holidays and at the shore every summer. In his golden years, it’s said he watched and ordered everything from QVC.He will be remembered by all who knew him for his infectious smile, his generosity, and his love of wine.To a man who truly lived a beautiful life and loved for a living - Salute! Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing SATURDAY 9 - 11 AM Epiphany of Our Lord Church 11th and Jackson St. Funeral MASS will follow viewing 11AM.
