Steven Hoang Truong unexpectedly passed away on March 6th, 2025. He was a beloved father, husband, son, brother, uncle, and dear friend to so many.
Born on November 11, 1985 to Yen Lu and Tony Truong, Steve spent the majority of his childhood in Lansdale, Pennsylvania. He graduated from North Penn High School in 2003 and earned his B.S. Accounting at Villanova University in 2007. Steve later went on to graduate from the executive MBA program at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in 2021.
Steve’s passion for finance and innovation led him to a successful career beginning in the audit practice at Deloitte & Touche LLP in 2007. Subsequent to that, Steve joined private industry working alongside his cousins at Greendog Recycling. In 2013, Steve joined FS Investments, where he quickly rose from staff accountant to the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis. In 2020, he decided to chase his dreams and entrepreneurial spirit to co-found BioPhy.AI with two of his Wharton classmates. Steve was dedicated in his passion to leverage AI to accelerate the advancement of medicine and bring life-changing therapies to patients.
Beyond his professional achievements, Steve enjoyed art, skiing, traveling, Villanova basketball, and Eagles football. Steve was an aficionado of all things culinary, from the best local donuts to Michelin-starred cuisine. He embraced life with enthusiasm. Those who knew him remember his generosity and willingness to help others.
Steve is survived by his beloved wife, Julie Ngo, and their two sons, Aaron (2) and Adrian (1), his mother (Yen), father (Tony), siblings (Tammy, John, and Jimmy), and extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and in-laws who loved him as their own.
