Mrs. Nguyen Thi Tam peacefully went to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at the home of her daughter in South Philadelphia. She was the devoted wife of the late Reverend Tran Xuan Quang (d.2014) and beloved mother of three daughters and one son. Mrs. Tam cherished her five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Mrs. Tam was born in Hai Duong, North Vietnam to the late Rev. & Mrs. Nguyen Huu Phien. She is the second child and is survived by one older sister, three younger brothers and two younger sisters. Mrs. Tam taught schools in Vietnam, served the Lord alongside her husband with Mennonite congregations in Gia Dinh (Vietnam); and in Ephrata and Philadelphia, PA until they retired in 2002. For 17 years, she worked as the School & Home Coordinator at Henry Lee School in West Philadelphia from 1982 – 1999.
In 90 years of her life, Mrs. Tam overcame life challenges with her unshakable faith and trust in God’s mercy and faithfulness. Her greatest joy in life was welcoming and helping strangers in her home.
May Mrs. Tam’s soul rest in eternal peace of our living God and may her loving memories continue to bring comfort and joy to all who knew and loved her.
