Teresa Lee

Teresa Chu Ling (Mark) Lee, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away peacefully on July 5th, 2026 at Holy Redeemer Hospital. She was born on February 2nd, 1936 in Toisan, Guangdong. She was married in 1953 to Shui Moy, Thomas Lee, in Kowloon, Hong Kong. She immigrated to America in 1954 and put roots down in Philadelphia where they raised their three sons, Richard, Reginald and Ronald. Teresa had a passion for education and earned a Nursing Degree from Penn State, where she then served her community as a registered nurse at Hahnemann University Hospital, Saint Christopher’s Children Hospital and Episcopal Hospital. She had a love of the musical arts and learned how to play the piano, filling her home with song and sheet music. A hunger for knowledge, Teresa was always studying a new subject, with a cup of coffee by her side and a bowl of cashews to snack on. She spent her free time reading and filling the various bookshelves in her house. With a love for fashion, you could often find her walking down Center City on her way to Macy’s to find something new for her wardrobe. When she wasn’t shopping or reading, Teresa would go to her favorite restaurants Mei Lai Wah and Joy Tsin Lau to enjoy her dishes of choice, seafood chow mein, roast pork and soy sauce chicken. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Teresa is survived by her sons Richard (Carol), Reginald (Susan), and Ronald (JoAnne); her grandchildren Jessica, Randall, Tyler, Lauren, Alex, Brett and Paige, five great grandchildren, her sister Helen, and many nieces and nephews.
