Thoa Tran Profile Photo
Mrs. Thoa Thi Tran, 88, was born in Bac Ninh, Vietnam on March 14, 1933, the daughter of Mr. Trinh Xuan Mao and Mrs. Vuong Thi Rot, passed peacefully from this life to eternal life with God on November 22, 2021, in the presence of her loved ones holding her hands in her home. She was married to Duc Huy Tran in 1953 in Thai Binh, Vietnam. She is survived by eight sons and two daughters, eight dauthers-in-law, two sons-in-law, twenty-two grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. Mrs. Tran left Vietnam in 1975 and immigrated to the USA with her husband and children. Although she had a humble and meager beginning in America; however, with little education, language barriers in America, and amazingly hard work ethic, she and her husband were able to provide and take care of their children. Later in her life from 1994-2015, she devoted all of her time to volunteering in the community and working with charitable and religious organizations. She founded and was the President of the Bo De Temple where she worked with community leaders to provide a place of worship and weekly meals for Vietnamese Americans in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 2000, she also founded and was President of a non-profit Vietnamese Hung Vuong Association, promoting Vietnamese cultural and traditional values, providing social services, educational classes, recreational activities, and food programs for the members, especially the elders, and the youth of the community. She advocated and supported other non-profit organizations and empowered Vietnamese Americans to have equal access to social and economic development and healthcare. She is remembered as a mom and grandmother who sacrificed everything for her children and dedicated her life to raising, loving and caring for them.
