Tuyet Lan T. Nguyen

Tuyet Lan T. Nguyen was born in Vietnam on July 29, 1970. Before beginning her life in the United States, she lived in the Philippines and California with her mother, eventually laying down roots in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania—a place she proudly called home. She passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026, at 5:27 p.m., surrounded by love.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Kent; her beloved mother, Tuyet; and her five children: Mimi, Kathy, Lucy, Nancy, and Kenny.

Tuyet Lan was vibrant, fun-loving, deeply caring, and truly the life of the party. She loved to sing karaoke, dance, and cook—passions she was able to live out daily as the owner and operator of the family restaurant, where laughter, music, and love filled the space as much as the food did.

In 2021, our family received the news of her Stage IV lung adenocarcinoma diagnosis. Over the next four years, eight months, and eleven days, she fought with remarkable strength and resilience. Through radiation and chemotherapy, she continued to show up for her family and her life, never allowing her illness to define her. During this time, she fulfilled one of her lifelong goals—becoming a United States citizen—an achievement she was incredibly proud of.

Having been orphaned at a young age, Tuyet Lan always dreamed of building a big, loving family, and she did just that. Family was the center of her world. She passed peacefully and pain-free, surrounded by her husband, her mother, and her five children by her side.

Her legacy lives on in the love she gave, the memories she created, and the family she built with intention, joy, and heart.
