Vincenzo Taormina “Enzo”, passed away on January 9, 2025, at 84 years old. Enzo was a devoted and loving husband to his wife of 57 years, Caterina Taormina (nee Spatola.) Also the beloved father of Angelo (Diana), Salvatore (Jennifer), and Tiziana Taormina. Poppop of Julia, Angelo Jr., Alaina, Mikaela, Arianna, Alexander, Vincenzo (Nicole), Christopher, Salvatore and Atiana. Great Grandfather of Vincenzo II, Alessia, and Shane. Loving brother of Angela (Carlo), Armida (Augustino), and Girolama “Mimma” Taormina (Franco) of Carini, Sicily. Enzo is also survived by eight nieces and nephews.

Enzo grew up in the beautiful town of Carini, Sicily surrounded by serene mountains, a view of the turquoise Mediterranean Sea, and the bustling city of Palermo.

At a young age, Enzo discovered his love of automobiles and developed a strong work ethic through working at his father’s bus company, “Taormina Bus Co,” which was the very first full-service bus company in Carini. He learned to drive buses and repair vehicles, while also experiencing a joyful childhood with his three sisters, many cousins, and friends. Enzo attended college in Sicily and had a love of learning and curiosity for new experiences. He then met his wife, Caterina as a young adult and dreamed of one day bringing his young family to the United States in search of new opportunities and adventures. Enzo bravely immigrated to the US with his expectant wife and two sons to South Philadelphia in 1974. Enzo channeled his love of automobiles into becoming a mechanic at Schmidt Brewery, where he then became the Foreman of Fleet Management.

In his later years, Enzo opened a grocery store on S. 8th and Johnson St. named “Vincent's Market.” His hobbies included hunting in the winter months, watching sports, cooking Sicilian recipes for his family, and playing the accordion at family gatherings. He especially enjoyed the holidays surrounded by his three loving children, ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. To Enzo, family was everything.

One of Enzo’s most beloved qualities was his kindness. He had a heart of gold, an innate generosity, and was always there to help and guide us. Enzo was the true embodiment of how to be strong and love deeply. Enzo also had a special talent for making his loved ones laugh and was always ready with a joke to brighten everyone’s day. An intelligent man with a keen memory and sharp wit.  He was one of the most charming men you could ever meet and the best dancer at every party. He will be forever missed by all of us.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Saturday, January 18th, 9:30 – 11 AM Epiphany of Our Lord Church 11th and Jackson St. Mass will begin at 11 AM Entombment Calvary Cemetery Cherry Hill, NJ.
