Vongkeo Vannasouk Profile Photo

Vongkeo Vannasouk, 78, will sincerely be missed. Born on April 10, 1945 in Vientiane, Laos, he was the youngest of four. He had an older sister and two older brothers. He proudly served in the military and protected his home country of Laos against the oppressing communists. In 1977, to avoid being captured and possibly executed, he escaped Laos by swimming across a wide river leading to Thailand where he reunited with his wife, Bouaphet, and his first son, Vannaret.

His application to legally enter the United States with his family was approved in 1981 where he made South Philadelphia his home. He worked numerous jobs as a production worker, always enjoying the fruits of his labor with an ice cold beer in his hand after work. In 1987, his second son, Sylvester, was born drawing inspiration from Sylvester Stallone. As a remarkable husband and father, he worked hard and definitely played harder as he loved to host parties with an abundance of food, drinks and a great time often again, with an ice cold beer in his hand.

He will always be remembered for his selfless, caring, lovable, inspirational and unique self who lived and enjoyed life his way. He did anything at all costs to ensure a comfortable life for his family. He loved to spoil his family and his generosity and heart is unexplainable. His legacy and mannerisms will continue to thrive and live on with his wife, Bouaphet, his two sons, Vannaret and Sylvester, and his most favorite and beloved, his grandson, Lanvin.
