Wing Pui Lee, age 99, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026.
Born on August 8, 1926, in Xinhui, Jiangmen, China, Wing Pui lived a long life defined by quiet strength, hard work, and a deep dedication to his family and community.
A lifelong restaurateur, he owned and operated a restaurant in a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood of Philadelphia, where he became a familiar and beloved presence. Though quiet by nature, he was well known throughout the community and often enjoyed sharing friendly conversations with neighbors and passersby. His kindness, humility, and steady presence left a lasting impression on many.
He was a devoted father to his three children and a proud grandfather to four grandchildren, all of whom were the center of his life.
To his family, he will be remembered for the values he lived by each day. One of his favorite sayings was to “stay grounded,” reflecting the Chinese belief of keeping one’s feet firmly planted on solid ground. It was a principle he embodied throughout his life—steady, humble, hardworking, and always focused on what mattered most.
His legacy lives on through the family he raised and the community he touched. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Services and interment are pending.
